Part of our launch last week, we launched for launch! The Launch United Classic Launch Moments contest grew slower at the start than we would have hoped. About a week in, we have 20 entries from about 15 people (you can enter more than once). So you may be asking yourself, “Why would you share this contest if it’s not a huge success?” Well, great question! The answer is simple: we’re not going to be one of those companies that hypes everything up and makes it sound like we have a miracle drug. So here are the facts:
- Yunno makes it easier to engage your fans
- Yunno’s gaming principals makes contests feel more fun than other contests out there, which results in longer “play” and a more viral nature.
- But Yunno can only be affective if fans are driven to the contest. In other words, if fans weren’t visiting your fan page before launching the contest, they’re not going to start simply because you added a contest. You have to actively post updates to your wall about the contest and pique their interest. In the long run, if you provide engaging contests, fans may start to visit your site even without seeing a status update because they know you likely have something fun for them to do. Make sense?
So with that said, I’ll close by saying: this ain’t over! We’re just getting started. We’ve learned a ton since launching our first sponsored pilot contests, and it’s only been a week. Imagine what we’ll know by next week?
I’ll keep you posted on the results. This contest is awesome and we want to make sure it gets its proper time in the spotlight.
Great article…look forward to all good things for YUNNO in linking advertisers to their market. A hum, I noticed they misspelled Phil (Philt) and what’s this via Chicago? Is Phil in Chi town without telling his parents? tee he
I like the new scrolling format for the contests.
