    Yunno gets TV Time

How could I forget this!? Yunno was featured on CBS3 news a month or so ago.

They did a DreamIt story and Yunno was one of two companies they interviews.

Watch closely between 1:27 and 1:31 for a b-roll shot of my forehead, and a big ol’ closeup of Andres.

Now that we’re famous, people are always coming up to me, “hey aren’t you that guy that got 4 seconds of air time on a local news channel?” It’s frustrating, but I gotta take the time to appreciate my fans, you know?

This news article is exciting for us. We get to see one of our contests being featured without any solicitation. This came out of word of mouth. Awesome!

Even better, the blogger also mentions some of the background on Korver’s foundation. Kyle is very dedicated to helping people through his foundation, and part of running these contests is to raise awareness and support for his foundation.

We’re really excited for Kyle. We’re going to be launching more contests very soon.

Attention everyone. I wanted to announce that I was recently — just 5 minutes ago — awarded the highest honor at DreamIt Ventures.

Company of the year? No, of course not. Even if that existed, this is way more important!

That’s right… I was just crowned the DreamIt 2010 Ping Pong Champion! Send a self-addressed envelop to my address and I’ll be sure to send back a personalized signed picture for your sports memorabilia case.

    Biggest Upside? I’ll take it!

    http://technicallyphilly.com/2010/08/12/dreamit-demo-day-2010-and-the-winner-for-best-company-is

Technically Philly gave Sqoot and Yunno the “Biggest Upside” award. Not bad! Avand and Mo stole the thunder in the article and they left out all the cool stuff and awesome clients we’re working with, but we’ll take it :)

Great article…look forward to all good things for YUNNO in linking advertisers to their market. A hum, I noticed they misspelled Phil (Philt) and what’s this via Chicago? Is Phil in Chi town without telling his parents? tee he
I like the new scrolling format for the contests.
      Best Regards, momjan

    Launch United Contest

Part of our launch last week, we launched for launch!  The Launch United Classic Launch Moments contest grew slower at the start than we would have hoped.  About a week in, we have 20 entries from about 15 people (you can enter more than once).  So you may be asking yourself, “Why would you share this contest if it’s not a huge success?”  Well, great question!  The answer is simple: we’re not going to be one of those companies that hypes everything up and makes it sound like we have a miracle drug.  So here are the facts:

    • Yunno makes it easier to engage your fans
    • Yunno’s gaming principals makes contests feel more fun than other contests out there, which results in longer “play” and a more viral nature.
    • But Yunno can only be affective if fans are driven to the contest.  In other words, if fans weren’t visiting your fan page before launching the contest, they’re not going to start simply because you added a contest.  You have to actively post updates to your wall about the contest and pique their interest.  In the long run, if you provide engaging contests, fans may start to visit your site even without seeing a status update because they know you likely have something fun for them to do.  Make sense?

So with that said, I’ll close by saying: this ain’t over!  We’re just getting started.  We’ve learned a ton since launching our first sponsored pilot contests, and it’s only been a week.  Imagine what we’ll know by next week?

I’ll keep you posted on the results.  This contest is awesome and we want to make sure it gets its proper time in the spotlight.
