This was a Christmas gift to me from my friend- somehow she knew I'd have a fondness for it. :) I turn it on when I watch movies as it provides the perfect ambient light. I've had it long enough that I often forget its creep factor. But it's definitely one of the weirdest things I own.

Not odd. I don't know about the others, but my family and friends came to vote. They left comments for me. Says right up at the top to "get votes" and shows you how to pull up and merge your email contacts, facebook, etc. DM makes it easy to contact people to bring them to vote by providing the correct link and everything! (Check it out.) Sorry you feel it was some conspiracy.
